Biography

Roger Palmer

Roger Palmer (born 30 January 1959) is an ex-footballer. He played for Manchester City and Oldham Athletic. He is the all-time leading goal-scorer at Oldham. Roger's career culminated in a superb run of success for Oldham, including appearances in the League Cup final at Wembley and FA Cup semi-finals. In his testimonial season (1990-1991), Oldham won the then 2nd Division championship and rejoined the elite of English football. Since his retirement from football, he has been reclusive but he is remembered with fondness in Oldham.

Earl Barrett

Earl Delisser Barrett (born April 28, 1967 in Rochdale, Lancashire) is a former English footballer, most famous for his stints with Everton, Oldham Athletic, Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester City. He played mainly at right back though could also adapt to a central defensive role. He also gained three England caps whilst playing at Oldham and Aston Villa.

In 2001 he famously appeared on Celebrity Stars in their Eyes as Marvin Gaye. He came 4th.He is now working at Manchester City as an Events Organiser. His nicknames were "The Pearl", Perliniho.

Kevin Patrick Harper (born January 15, 1976, in Oldham, Greater Manchester) is a Scottish football player. He is currently playing for Dunfermline Athletic.

Richard Edghill

Richard Edghill (born 23 September 1974 in Oldham, Greater Manchester) is an English footballer who plays as a defender. Currently playing for Macclesfield Town.

Sonny Ramadhin

Sonny Ramadhin (born May 1, 1929) was a West Indian cricketer, and a dominant bowler of the 1950s. He was the first (of many) West Indian cricketers of Indian origin, and was Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1951.

Alex Givvons Born in Newport, Alex Givvons came to Oldham from the Cross Keys union club in 1933. He played rugby league with Oldham (1933/42 +1948) and Huddersfield, has died at 88.
Lucas Onyango

Lucas grew up in rugby union in his native Kenya. He
first came to England in the Kenya RU seven-a-side squad for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. He is currently playing for Oldham Roughyeds as a winger.

Carl Cox

Carl Cox (born July 29, 1962 in Oldham, Lancashire, England) is a popular international techno and house DJ. He began as a hardcore and acid house DJ in the mid 1980s, making a name for himself as the "Three Deck Wizard" in 1988, when, during the Second Summer of Love, he began to play on three turntables at once.
