A spectacular day of fun and information presented by Adult and Community Services' Independent Living Service. The event explores issues on disability, equality and the different services that are provided for the diverse communities of Oldham. There will be a host of things for people to peruse: information stands, professionals on hand to offer advice on disability and mental health, service users, volunteers, carers and members of the community. Interactive workshops, music and a variety of world foods will be provided on the day. This year Oldham Disability Arts will be presenting a special show called 'Through Our Eyes' working with Joseph Rourke and digital artist Peter Walker. Annual Peace Walk
Saddleworth Peace Movement's Annual Peace Walk is held on the anniversary of the dropping of the first atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan on August 6th 1945. the walk commemorates all those who died or suffered as a result and subsequently, during the nuclear age, due to the diversion of resources to weapons of mass destruction. The walk encourages people to work for peaceful resolution of conflict and to overcome barriers to peace, such as racism, unfair trade and the continuing arms trade. The circular walk finishes with a short, secular ceremony around 8.30pm

Aftercare Football Tournament
This exciting regional event brings young people from across Greater Manchester to compete in a knock-out football competition, this year the event will extend a warm welcome to spectators by providing other fun family activities focusing on have, 'a go' sporting fun. The event is provided through a partnership between The Aftercare Team, Oldham Sports Development, Oldham Community Liesure, Oldham Atheltic Football in the Community and Grounwork Rochdale and Oldham.
